시험 속에서 드려나는 믿음 야고보서(James) 1:2-4 송영세 목사 야고보서는 시험과 시련 속에서 드러나는 믿음을 이야기합니다. 하나님은 여러 가지 시험을 통해 우리의 믿음을 정금처럼 연단하시고, 인내(휘포모네)를 통해 온전한 신앙으로 빚어 가십니다. 요셉은 시련 속에서도 하나님의 뜻을 발견하며 애굽의 총리가 되었고, 욥은 고난 가운데 하나님의 주권을 깊이 경험했습니다. 바울과 실라도 감옥에서 찬양하며 하나님의 기적과 섭리를 보게 되었습니다. 시험은 우리를 무너뜨리기 위한 것이 아니라, 믿음을 성숙하게 하시는 하나님의 은혜의 과정입니다. 그러므로 고난 가운데 원망보다 기도로, 낙심보다 인내로 버티며 하나님의 지혜를 구해야 합니다. “시험을 참는 자는 복이 있나니 이는 시련을 견디어 낸 자가 주께서 약속하신 생명의 면류관을 얻을 것임이라” (야고보서 1:12) 시험을 이기는 믿음은 하나님의 지혜를 구하며 끝까지 기도하는 인내의 믿음입니다.
